In contrast to other well-known hotel review sites, Travel Republic only accepts reviews from verified customers, who are provided with a secure login to submit a review after returning from their hotel stay. This means that only 100% authentic, independent ratings are included.
With more than 2 million customers now booking with Travel Republic in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain and Italy each year, the number of reviews is increasing exponentially, with over 120,000 reviews added since the start of 2012.
The distinction of most-reviewed hotel belongs to the Sol Pelicanos Ocas in Costa Blanca (setting for the popular TV series Benidorm) which has been reviewed over 1,250 times. The hotel is rated 7.8 out of 10 and is described by one guest as “A fantastic hotel. Everything you could want and more”.
The hotel with the highest number of perfect, 10-out-of-10 ratings is the Costa Adeje Gran Hotel in Tenerife, about which one guest said “Excellent hotel, excellent staff, excellent holiday.” It has received top marks over 400 times and has an overall average of 8.6 out of 10.
As well as hotel reviews, customers have submitted over 300,000 ‘top tips’, with advice for other holidaymakers on how to make the most of their precious time away.
