Rockville, MD (PRWEB) October 08, 2012
TurningPoint Global Solutions, a software engineering and Information Technology (IT) professional services firm, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the 11th annual “Ride Allegheny,” a charity event that supports Operation Second Chance (OSC). The ride took place October 4, 5, 6 and 7, 2012.
Ride Allegheny is an annual four day, 320 mile cycling ride from Pittsburgh, PA to Gaithersburg, MD. Riders support veterans by raising money from private and corporate sponsors to benefit Operation Second Chance, which is a nonprofit dedicated to helping injured veterans readjust to civilian life.
“Ride Allegheny is an exceptional cause and a great way to show our appreciation for all of the sacrifices that our veterans have made for us.” said David Hughes, Managing Partner and Co-Founder at TurningPoint, “TurningPoint is thrilled for this opportunity to give back and to support these heroes.”
While the initial Ride Allegheny in 2001 had just 6 riders, the event has expanded substantially, with 72 riders participating in this year’s event. To date, Ride Allegheny has raised over $430,000 for Operation Second Chance, thus helping the organization to achieve its official status as a nonprofit.
