Michael R. Young, founding attorney of Michael R. Young Law Offices, has recently received an AV® Preeminent™ rating from Martindale-Hubbell®. This is a distinguished peer rating that many attorneys strive after. These ratings are considered to be an objective indicator of a lawyer’s quality. Quality is based upon high ethical standards as well as professional ability and overall excellence.

Attorneys are nominated and evaluated by other members of the bar as well as the judiciary of the United States. As a member of the California State Bar, Mr. Young was evaluated by judges and other attorneys admitted to the California State Bar. Lawyers who receive these ratings fall under multiple different jurisdictions, but are evaluated against attorneys of similar practice areas.

The general ethical standards rating comes first in the lawyer evaluation process. Only those attorneys who achieve a “very high” ethical rating will be considered for the next step of the process, which is the legal ability rating. There are five major areas that attorneys will be rated on in order to determine legal ability. The first is legal knowledge, which includes the attorney’s depth of understanding and familiarity with the laws in their area of practice.

The next criterion is analytical capability, which includes the lawyer’s ability to analyze the knowledge they have and creatively apply it. Judgment, communication ability and legal experience are the final three criteria that attorneys are evaluated on. Mr. Young was able to score within the Preeminent™ category, which is the highest possible category.

Mr. Young has been practicing family law for more than ten years, and frequently takes on cases involving divorce, custody, property division and even military divorce for his clients. He graduated at the top of his class from California State University, San Bernardino and then went on to Southwestern University School of Law also at the top ten percent of his class.

Since graduating from law school, Mr. Young has sought to sustain this level of excellence for the benefit of his clients. He is committed to results, and always aims to get his clients the solution that they are looking for. His dedication has resulted in many happy clients, and the firm now has an AV® rating to testify to that level of quality and client satisfaction.
