Tangowhiskyman is known for experimenting with a somewhat music noir style immersed in hallucinogenic, powerful, intense avant-garde guitars and extreme analog Moog sounds. The cool rhythm of the drums and bass, their simple songwriting, and the singer's fragile voice and tense lyrics create an unworldly atmosphere that entices any music enthusiast. With obvious influences of German kraut-rock, British and American rock, and alternative electro music, as well as trip hop and other genres, the four piece band sounds a bit like Portishead, Radiohead, Talking Heads, Can, Pink Floyd, and MGMT all merged into an Aphex Twin, tangerine dream like English-wanna-be musical fusion. The foursome's unique sound explodes with amazing climatic, dark, vibrant melodies and strong enveloping beats. Their first official promo album, self-titled "Tangowhiskyman" was released worldwide on September, 2012. It was recorded in their own home in the Caribbean island of the Dominican Republic, and produced by the band themselves. Mixed and mastered by Jonathan Estes in New York. There is a lot of excitement on the island as to where this unpredictable indie band is going.
