With the Major League Baseball enters the 2012 post season the founders of SaveOnBrew.Com recently conducted a study of beer prices in all Major League Stadiums to help spectators budget better.
“There is good news for fans of the boys of summer,” says SaveOnBrew’s Mark Davidson. “Of all the stadiums, we found the average price for a 15.21 ounce beer was $6.17. At Kaufman Stadium, you can expect to get a 16 ounce beer for $6, so you’re on the low end of the spectrum.”
Davidson adds that the most expensive place to find a beer is Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Socks, where beer purchasers pay 60 cents per ounce. By contrast, those luck enough to attend this years All Star Game paid just 38 cents per ounce for their brew.
Fans of the Cardinals and Blue Jays can expect to pay a hefty price for their libations, with $6.75 and $7.19 beers respectively.
The best deals on Major League Baseball brews can be found at the homes of the Diamondbacks ($4, 29 cents/ounce), Angels ($4.50, 32 cents/ounce), and Rockies $5.50, 34 cents/ounce).
SaveOnBrew summarized their findings in with an infographic that can be found on their web site.
“Unfortunately, MLB stadiums are generally spaced so far apart that you can’t just drive to the next town over for cheap suds,” Davidson explains. “So if you are really looking to save money on beer, you’d need to shop retail, pre-game and ride the bus or hail a cab down to the game. As I always say, ‘Life is too short to drink expensive beer,’ so we created a ‘Google for beer’ where you can consistently find a better deal on your favorite brands.”
