“Akel Ventures is thrilled to launch a point, click buy video technology because it’s an effective tool that we can use to help companies both large and small promote products to a wider base and convert more clicks into sales,” Akel said.

The Internet can be a noisy place and in order to stand out amongst the social media strategies and email marketing tactics a company needs an edge. To offer that edge, retail consultancy group Akel Ventures is partnering with iNet Entertainment to offer its innovative point, click, buy sales technology. iNet Entertainment’s “iCan Get It” technology is an effective way to monetize video with a company’s products without interrupting the viewer experience.

Carolyn Akel, founder of Akel Ventures said the technology is a powerful way for retailers to leverage their email opt-in database, provide another point of interaction on Facebook pages, drive additional site traffic and identify and reward loyal customers acting as brand evangelists.

“Akel Ventures is thrilled to launch a point, click buy video technology because it’s an effective tool that we can use to help retailers, and public relations, advertising and digital agencies promote products to a wider base and convert more clicks into sales,” Akel said.

The “iCan Get It” technology, when layered on video, allows online viewers to point-click-buy simply products integrated in a show and then return to watching the show.

The technology is so innovative that large retailers are quickly embracing the concept to showcase their products. Most recently Target created a point-click-buy romantic comedy featuring actors Kristen Bell, Nia Long and Zachary Abel, along with some strategic product placement. Using technology similar to iCan Get It the 12-minute online film allows viewers to click on products in the film so they can buy on the spot.

iNet Entertainment’s technology builds on an already proven technique of using video to engage audiences:

  •     Video in email marketing increases click-through rates over 96% according to Implix Email Marketing Trends
  •     90% of shoppers use video to make purchase decisions says an Internet Retailer case study
  •     41% of affluent online shoppers reported they took action after seeing video and search ad formats according to an eMarketer study
