1,600+ lbs of food collected to date for The San Diego Food Bank

To collect as much food as we can for the food bank, Hawthorne is going to match every food item donation made on Friday, October 12, 2012.

In an effort to help those in need, Hawthorne Cat® has teamed with the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and San Diego State University Athletics to collect needed food items for the San Diego community.

Hawthorne Cat’s Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, David Ness, adds “We have collected over 1,600 pounds of food from customers, employees and the greater community. To collect as much food as we can for the food bank, Hawthorne is going to match every food item donation made on Friday, October 12, 2012. We encourage the entire San Diego community to come out and support our efforts to score the ‘winning touchdown’ this Friday.”

Steve Dunn, Corporate Marketing Director, continues “We want to encourage community members to bring food to any of our locations and drop off their items in the designated red bins. For every five items of food donated, Hawthorne will provide a complimentary ticket for the October 27th football game.” (SDSU Aztecs vs. UNLV Rebels).

Hawthorne Cat will be accepting food donations through Friday, October 26, 2012, during normal business hours.

Tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis. Supplies are limited. Visit http://www.hawthornecat.com/sdsufooddrive or call 800.437.4228 for complete details of the food drive including drop-off locations.
