Accused of Violating Consent Order Because Dog Dislodged Muzzle

A couple in will be at the Jefferson Township Municipal Court this Thursday October 11, 2012 to prevent their two Boerboel dogs from being euthanized.

State v. Susan and Gary Kolb, Summons Nos: S-2011-291 & S-2011-296 SC8763.

Prosecutor James LaSala is seeking to have the the couples' pets Jumba and Imani put down because he alleges that on October 18, 2011 at approximately 6:00 am in the morning, the Kolbs walked their dogs without muzzles.

The couple claims they are innocent and will go to Trial if necessary to clear their names and save their pets. The couple has also been indicted in the Morris County Superior Court, State v. Susan and Gary Kolb. Indictment No.12-03-00261-1 on criminal charges and could face up to 18 months in prison.

The Kolbs believe this is a big misunderstanding. predicated on three incidents that happened almost 5 years ago.

Rather than give up on Jumba and Imani , Susan and Gary Kolb have spent the last year fighting the accusations, and have visited their pets every day to care for and feed them.

One Animal Control Officer who works weekly with the animals has even described the two dogs as "Gentle Giants."
