Skoolbo today kicks off Smartest Singapore 2012, the inaugural challenge event in the search for Singapore’s smartest kids from P1 to P6. Skoolbo today kicks off Smartest Singapore 2012, the inaugural challenge event in the search for Singapore’s smartest kids from P1 to P6. Smartest Singapore is organised by Skoolbo and supported by Samsung, Microsoft, Collins, F&N Magnolia, Swensen’s, Bioglan, ArtScience Museum, the Star Vista and the Media Development Authority of Singapore. The event aims to showcase the wonderfully talented primary children of Singapore.

Children will compete in 100 second speed challenges in languages (English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil), mathematics and general knowledge via a specially modified version of the Skoolbo learning game engine.

“Smartest Singapore 2012 is a wonderful opportunity for children to have fun while learning,” said Mr Shane Hill, Skoolbo CEO. “Singapore possesses some of the world’s brightest children and we are looking forward to seeing them show their skills. While we expect to see some amazing performances, the event has been designed to cater for needs of all children. Every child will have fun playing Smartest Singapore.”

Smartest Singapore 2012 commences with a preliminary online competition from 4 to 28 November. The top 100 participants from each age group will be invited to the Semi-Final at Marina Barrage on 1 December. Subsequently, the top two participants from each age group will join the Grand Final at NTUC Auditorium on 3 December.

Charity is an important component of Smartest Singapore 2012. For every school that registers their interest, S$100 will be instantly donated to the charity of their choice. Furthermore, for each entry registered, S$5 will be donated to the school’s nominated charity.

Each champion will win a three-day trip to Hong Kong Disneyland with his or her parent. The second to eighth runner up in each age group will win a Super Explorer card that grants the child and the parent unlimited access to the top twelve most much-loved attractions in Singapore such as Night Safari, Underwater World & Dolphin Lagoon, Singapore flyer, etc. in three consecutive days.
