We feel proud to be contributing to such a worthwhile cause and glad that we can do our bit for less fortunate people in poor countries when we in the UK take specialist eye care for granted"

Bristol-based Modern Canvas Art is an online retailer of custom-made art including Banksy canvas prints, pop art canvas prints, canvas paintings and abstract art. Modern Canvas Art has been in business since 2006 and the majority of customers buy wall art to decorate and brighten up their homes and workplaces.

One of the most popular ranges are the Banksy canvas prints which portray graffiti works of art by the underground artist in both photographic and artistic styles. Consumer interest in Banksy art has grown unabated since the late 1990's and ready-to-hang reproduction Banksy prints have proven very popular in the last few years as consumers strive to stamp some personality on their homes and workspaces.

Whilst the real identity of Banksy is a closely-guarded secret, it is well documented that Banksy is a supporter of Sightsavers International, a charity working tirelessly to combat blindness in developing countries by assisting in the restoration of sight through specialist treatment and eye care.

In recognition of the work carried out by Sightsavers International, Modern Canvas Art, would like to announce that for each Banksy canvas print sold through the website, 10% of the proceeds of every sale will be donated to Sightsavers. Modern Canvas Art feels that such a worthy cause deserves their support and they are delighted to nominate Sightsavers as their charity of choice.

Working with their partners in 2011, Sightsavers International carried out:

  • Over 31 million treatments to prevent or cure blindness
  • 251,048 sight-restoring cataract operations
  • The provision of training to 134,413 people for delivering primary eye care to diagnose and treat eye problems
  • Administering over 79.5 million treatments to protect against neglected tropical diseases (NTDs)
