Miri Systems, creator of the patented MiriPay™ card fraud protection system, MiriID™ identification solution and MiriToken™ soft token technology, has released the names of its new advisory board members. Stephan L. Abrams, J. Allard, William (Bill) O. Cooper Dr. Robert E. Sandström will help guide the company as it develops the advanced identification and authorization technologies now needed in financial, healthcare, industrial and other high-security applications.
Abrams headed MasterCard’s Global Commercial Payments Division for two decades. Over the years, he developed a wide variety of commercial payment solutions, including an integrated platform to support an organization’s purchasing, fleet travel programs with one card. His experience also includes managing a line of credit business, ATM network an artificial intelligence-based personal financial planning project at Chase, as well as managing merchant business and developing a unique retail distribution system for Chemical Bank.
Allard contributed to 50+ products at Microsoft, including integrating Internet capabilities into Windows including TCP/IP and Internet Explorer. He also led the design, engineering and business model for Xbox hardware, software and Xbox Live. Following the success of Xbox 360, he built a world-class design organization that spanned all consumer efforts, including the "Metro" design language in Zune, Windows Phone, Xbox Kinect and Windows 8. Today, he serves as an advisor to several startups in addition to Miri Systems, including The Clymb and Health 123.
Cooper has focused his career in information technology, business development, professional services and sales and marketing, including third-world management consulting. He has assumed leadership roles in a broad range of information technology companies, from Oracle-based ERP applications to leading-edge supply chain and business-to-business e-commerce endeavors. Over the years, he has worked for startups, as well as Fortune 500 companies such as Unocal, Learjet, Praxair and EDS.
Dr. Sandström held management positions in research, operations and technology development during his tenure as chief off-shore engineer for ExxonMobil. Also while at ExxonMobil, he authored multiple patents and led a major technical effort that uncovered new physics properties and enabled a major technology breakthrough in the industry. Prior to joining ExxonMobil, Dr. Sandström served as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Michigan.
