One of Chicago’s longest-running Halloween events gets a current boost from a Chicago-based start-up with more than music on its on mind. This season, integrated media outlet Atomic Imaging/Golan Studios partners with concert-sharing app Showfile.fm to reinvent its annual Halloween gala, which celebrates 27 years in the making. “The Revengers,” Halloween Party 2012, takes place on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 8 p.m., in the historic warehouse space of Atomic Imaging /Golan Studios, 1501 N. Magnolia Ave.
Housed in a century-old, ice-factory-turned-movie-studio, the iconic party snakes along Chicago’s river bank and pulses on the energy of live music and DJs spread across three rooms. The warehouse location boasts all-inclusive food & beverage package (open bar), with proceeds benefiting Adaptive Adventures, a non-profit providing progressive recreational opportunities for people with disabilities and their families.
“This Halloween Party is a staple in Chicago,” says Fitz (John Fitzsimmons, -- Showfile.fm co-founder), who partnered with Ari Golan, Atomic Imaging/Golan Studios founder and long-standing party host. “Now Showfile has the opportunity to be a part of it and help take it to another level—we couldn't pass on it.”
Chicago-grown Showfile has passed its message of building relationships among music lovers and concerts goers since launching in April 2012. Its mission is to create, strengthen and make useful the personal and professional connections that form between individuals and groups of individuals around live music events.
This summer the Chicago start-up put together two events that rocked revelers inside a sprawling artist loft on Chicago’s north side and on the rooftop of a downtown high rise. The events featured DJs, art installations, and memorable vibes that kept crowds buzzing for months. Fitz says Showfile’s partnership in one of Chicago’s most historic Halloween events only solidifies its message and status further.
“Live music events form bonds between individuals and groups of individuals, and most often people attend these events with at least one other person if not a group,” Fitz says. “These groups form a connection with the music and each other through a shared experience. It's these connections that are Showfile's underlying mission.”
Adds Fitz: “The spirit behind Showfile has become a great catalyst for drawing such a cool, fun, music loving crowd. It's really amazing.”
