In an effort to better inform the public and MMJ professionals, MJ Freeway, Leading Hosted Provider of Medical Marijuana Sales and Inventory Tracking Software, is sponsoring a free webinar on Washington's Initiative 502. This free webinar will be held by Hilary Bricken, and attorney with the Canna Law Group in Seattle, and Amy Poinsett, co-founder and CEO of MJ Freeway. Washington I- 502, is a statewide ballot initiative that seeks to replace the fight against marijuana with an approach of regulating and taxing marijuana for adult use.

Bricken, an attorney with the Canna Law Group in Seattle is regarded as one of Washington State's premier cannabis business attorneys, she helps MMJ companies of all sizes with everything from corporate structure and intellectual property protection to branding, licensing, and medical cannabis law.

Additionally, Hilary will provide the MMJ industry with a picture of what the political and business atmosphere will look like if I-502 passes, including what the direct effects will be on the MMJ industry. Specifically, Hilary will cover the authority of the Liquor Control Board and the Department of Revenue, the potential response from the Federal government and the effects of the 5 nano-gram green DUI. Some questions Hilary will cover include:

  • Is there any provision in I-502 for current medical marijuana caregivers or growers who want to convert to growing cannabis for retail sale?
  • Will there still be medical marijuana collective gardens or access points after I-502 goes into effect?
  • What impact do you see I-502 having on medical marijuana prices in Washington?
  • Will I-502 spark a federal crack-down in Washington against all marijuana providers, both retail and medical?
  • If I-502 passes, how likely is it that parts of it, like the per se DUI limit, could be overturned?
Amy Poinsett is co-founder and CEO of MJ Freeway. A successful entrepreneur, Amy has founded, directed, managed, served as COO, and served as CEO of various high revenue earning technology start-up companies in the point of sale and e-commerce spaces. For the webinar, Poinsett will deliver opening comments and lead a Q & A that will bring out concerns from both the pro and con positions.

On hosting the informative webinar, Amy stated, "We want to make this a 'position neutral' seminar on the effects of Initiative 502 on existing MMJ industry in Washington." And she continued by saying that, "This presentation will be a very educational presentation and valuable for all impacted by the MMJ industry."
