About the Author
Main D was born October 1, 1976 in Saginaw, Michigan, to James and Dorothy Smith. His parents were old fashioned strict people from the South. His father was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and his mother was born in Montgomery, Alabama. Together they raised him and his older sister. The author never got a chance to meet his grandparents as they had already died by the time he was born. His maternal grandfather was working under a car when a transmission fell on him and crushed his heart. His maternal grandmother died young at the age of 35 after having a stroke. Main D’s parents met in Nashville, Tennessee, in March of 1973 and got married in August of 1973. They remained married until his father died of a massive heart attack on December 17, 1990. After that the author became rebellious and turned to a life on the streets and dropped out of school in the 8th grade, which up to that point he had been a straight A student. He was in and out of juvenile facilities and once he became an adult, he was in and out of jail—he even graduated to prison. Upon the author’s release, he reflected back on his life and decided enough was enough. He went back to school, got his G.E.D. and furthered his education by going to college and graduating with honors in 2009 with an associate degree in computer science. Since then, he started a computer company but his true passion is writing, which began at the age of ten.
