Solar Charger Kits

New York, NY (PRWEB) October 16, 2012

Voltaic Systems today launched a complete line of solar charger kits which allow users to design their own portable power systems. Each kit includes rugged, waterproof solar panels, connectors, and a universal battery which charges efficiently from solar. Kits range in size from 2 Watts of solar power for basic smartphone and small device charging, to 16 Watts for laptop, tablet and digital camera charging.

“We’ve discovered that one size doesn’t fit all. Our customers charge hundreds of different devices in wildly different conditions all over the world.” said Shayne McQuade, CEO of Voltaic Systems. “We created these solar charger kits so our customers can build solar systems tailored to their specific power, weight cost, and form factor requirements.”

Time-Tested, Mix and Match Components
Voltaic Systems has been using the solar panels, batteries and connectors in its own solar charger products for the past six years. The cells are encased in a clear, UV and scratch resistant coating, and backed by a rigid aluminum composite material. These lightweight, monocrystalline solar panels have been to the top of the highest peaks, floated in the ocean for months at a time, and journeyed across deserts. Using Voltaic circuit boxes, the panels can be connected together to generate more power, or higher Voltages, depending on the requirement. Each kit is often compatible with multiple batteries with different capacities and price points.

Lots of Example Projects
Voltaic has assembled a range of projects ranging from the sublimely simple to the complex. On each kit page, there are example projects, many with detailed instructions on how to recreate them. While Voltaic has its favorites, including the solar-powered LegoTM car and the ocean kayak solar charger, the range of possible projects with a rugged solar panel and battery system is endless.

Flexible Mounting System
The back of each solar panel has four to eight stainless-steel screws and a lightweight nut. This allows the panel to be mounted securely onto any thin material, like fabric or aluminum.

Accessories for Nearly Every Situation
In addition to having over 72 adapters for phones, laptops and cameras, Voltaic offers extension cables, waterproofing tubing and multiple AC and DC chargers to cover a broad range of charging scenarios.
