David Dallas Recognized as Charlottesville's Corporate "Lawyer of the Year"

The Best Lawyers in America has named Williams Mullen attorney David L. Dallas, Jr. the 2013 “Lawyer of the Year” in Corporate Law in Charlottesville. The recognition is significant as only the attorney in the region with the most votes in the category earns this title.

A leader in the Charlottesville community since relocating in 2000 to open Williams Mullen’s new office, Mr. Dallas serves as general counsel for many area companies. He regularly advises clients about commercial transactions and disputes, venture capital financings, business purchases and sales, and owner disagreements.

States Crozet’s Jeff Schwoebel, CEO of REI Drilling, Inc., “The quality I most appreciate about Dave is that he really is part of our management team, understands our business and provides timely and pragmatic advice.”

Mr. Dallas currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Thomas Jefferson Partnership for Economic Development and the Board of Trustees of the Shenandoah National Park Trust. He is a past President and Chairman of the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Virginia.

Mr. Dallas received his law degree from the University of Virginia in 1987 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from UVA’s McIntire School in 1982.

Begun in 1983, Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which more than 41,000 attorneys cast almost 3.9 million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their practice areas. Lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed. Corporate Counsel magazine has called Best Lawyers “the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice.”
