Today, as events are held around the world to raise awareness and support for girls’ education, CafeGive is proud to be a part of the International Day of the Girl through our work with the 10X10 campaign, a global campaign to educate girls and change the world.
10x10 is a grassroots campaign, and at its center is a feature film, Girl Rising. Initiated by a team of Oscar-nominated and Emmy award-winning producers and directors, 10x10 has grown into a movement that includes a network of global supporters – from strategic partner Intel Corporation to notable NGOs: Afghan Connection, A New Day Cambodia, CARE USA, UN Foundation’s Girl Up, Partners in Health, Plan International USA, Pratham USA, Room to Read, and World Vision.
The technology platform provided by CafeGive includes innovative web and mobile applications. One of these applications, Share and Donate, engages fans and supporters through the 10X10 Facebook page, website and NGO partner pages. Visitors can trigger a $1 donation to girls’ education when they share the trailer to the movie, Girl Rising, with their own social networks. Corporate and foundation partners of the 10x10 campaign have committed donations up to $20,000 for the cause.
CafeGive has also added an important donation engine to the 10X10 website. The donation platform allows anyone in the U.S. to donate to The 10x10 Fund for Girls’ Education at the Tides Foundation. These funds will be granted through the Tides Foundation, a 501(c)3 public charity, to 10x10’s nonprofit partners for their programs related to girls' education. Social media sharing is built in to the CafeGive donation experience to encourage feedback and sharing along the way, and to give supporters the tools to build momentum.
The new 10X10 mobile website is designed for smartphone users to learn about the organization. It includes the Share and Donate application (via a CafeGive widget) to enable donation from a supporter's smartphone. Supporters can also use the mobile site to sign up for email, join the cause on Facebook, and spread the word to their own social media friends and followers.
