Michaels Management Services Earns Prestigious Industry Designation

The Michaels Organization is pleased to announce that Michaels Management Services(MMS), our full service property management company serving our military housing portfolio, has earned the prestigious Accredited Management Organization (AMO) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management.

“We are so pleased that Michaels Management Services has achieved this designation as it speaks to our professional expertise as well as our dedication and commitment to excellence,” said Heather Plummer, CPM, senior vice president of Michaels Management Services.

The designation places Michaels Management Services in an elite group of property management companies in the country (top 1%) that have earned the AMO, which is considered the “mark of distinction” within the real estate industry. The AMO designation signifies that Michaels Management Services has met a rigorous set of requirements including excellence in financial management, property operations, maintenance, marketing, and leasing, and that the company is committed to the highest level of professional ethics. In addition, the AMO designation requires that the company’s top-level managers have earned the industry-leading Certified Property Management (CPM) designation from IREM.

Michaels Management Services currently manages more than 8,000 privatized military housing units across six different installations, serving more than 27,000 residents. In 2011, as part of Michaels Military Housing, MMS was a finalist for the prestigious “Property Management Firm of the Year,” award presented annually by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

This year, one of MMS’s community managers, Amanda Weeks, CPM, was named the NAHB’s Property Manager of the Year and another manager, Stacy Loucks, CPM, was a finalist for NAHB’s Regional Property Manager of the Year award. The Michaels Management Services team at Mountain Vista Communities at Fort Huachuca was named the Outstanding Housing Installation Team of the Year by the Professional Housing Management Association, and the Army selected two MMS employees for its “Unsung Heroes” award, which recognizes contributions by housing management professionals considered “above and beyond the call of duty.”
