Bognet Construction Adds Principals Michael Coyle and Thomas "Rusty" Todd to Leadership Team

Bognet Construction, one of the Washington, DC area’s most respected and innovative construction firms, has announced the promotion of Michael Coyle, LEED AP to Principal, Senior Vice President, Construction and Thomas “Rusty” Todd to the positions of Principal, Senior Vice President, Pre-Construction, bringing established company leaders into strategic partner positions.

Bognet Construction, one of the Washington, DC area’s most respected and innovative construction firms, has announced the promotion of Michael Coyle, LEED AP to Principal, Senior Vice President, Construction and Thomas “Rusty” Todd to the positions of Principal, Senior Vice President, Pre-Construction, bringing established company leaders into strategic partner positions. The 14-year old company has been growing rapidly through the past five years, adhering to “The Bognet Way” – a set of values and principles that drive every action of the company -- and a highly principled and proactive methodology for developing a trusted partner relationship with clients. Senior Vice President and Principal, Jennifer Bognet, will continue to lead Bognet’s business development, marketing, customer services and HR functions with CFO Glenn Roberson continuing in his role as the growing company continues to broaden its reach.

Bognet, which will celebrate its 15th year in 2013, grew quickly through 2008, maintained a steady, core client business through 2009, and was well-positioned to grow coming out of the recession, achieving record revenues in 2011. The company has invested heavily in technology and training systems and added seven professionals in the last year – six of them new positions designed to bring added depth and capacity to estimating and project management -- bringing the firm size to a total of 67 employees.

Michael Coyle has served as a Vice President for Project Management for Bognet for 12 years, developing expertise in construction best practices and a detailed approach to project implementation. He has been in the construction industry for more than 22 years, with experience in base building construction, large tenant construction, LEED/sustainable projects, health care, and high tech/SCIF. Coyle graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Architectural Engineering and Construction Management.

Thomas “Rusty” Todd has served as Vice President for Preconstruction for over six years, managing a team of project managers as well as training for the company’s on-site superintendents and overseeing all phases of each project, from pre-construction and value engineering services through project completion. He has also focused on maintaining quality client and subcontractor relations, and leads the pre-construction phase services team including estimating and budgeting. Rusty has been in the commercial construction industry for more than forty years. Todd graduated from Northern Virginia Community College with degrees in Construction Management and Business Management.

This fall, Bognet Co-Founder and EVP/Principal, Jeffrey G. Kaiser, will take a step back from his leadership role, continuing to work with company leaders in a consulting role but taking more time to spend time with his family as well as pursue other life goals. Bognet spoke to the impact Kaiser has had on the company, saying, “Jeff has been an essential player in the development of “The Bognet Way”, with a hand on every project and an ability to create that rare trusted relationship with clients. We are delighted that Jeff’s highly successful career with Bognet has allowed him to step back and enjoy other areas of his life while remaining a valuable resource to our entire team.”
