Three Brothers Bakery celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Many people do not know about the great sense of community that survivors can experience by connecting with the Komen foundation.

Three Brothers Bakery will be focusing its October efforts to support and celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month with fundraisers for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Dedication to this organization stems from Janice’s own experience with the disease - this year marks the end of five years of post-cancer treatment for the breast cancer survivor and bakery co-owner.

During the month of October, both Three Brothers Bakery (4036 S. Braeswood and 12393 Kingsride Lane) will be selling special edition pink treats. Included in this group of pink pastries are pink ribbon shaped cookies, pink, with pink ribbon icing and with pink tinted frosting and pink ribbon sprinkles. One dollar from each pink baked good purchase will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

“Komen did so much for me during my treatment,” Jucker said. “Many people do not know about the great sense of community that survivors can experience by connecting with the Komen foundation. To be able to support an organization that has given me so much support during one of the toughest times in my life feels great. I am excited to be here and able to do what I can to help find a cure for this disease.”

Additionally, the bakery is excited to announce its partnership with Texas Security Shredding for a “Shred Day” on October 27th. The event will take place from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at 4036 S. Braeswood Blvd. and will allow people to securely shred their sensitive information, for a donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Anyone who donates will be presented with one free cupcake. One hundred percent of the net proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

About Three Brothers Bakery:
The traditions of Three Brothers Bakery started in Chrzanow, Poland circa 1825. The family’s imprisonment in Nazi concentration camps, and ultimately their liberation and subsequent move to Houston, brought Eastern European scratch baking traditions to 4036 S. Braeswood Blvd and 12393 Kingsride Lane. Perfecting the process for almost 200 years, each day the fifth generation bakers produce mostly dairy-free breads and pastries, cookies, a full line of specialty dessert cakes and pies, as well as custom birthday, special occasion, wedding and groom’s cakes using only the highest quality ingredients.

The Three Brothers Bakery pecan pie was named “the best mail order pecan pie America has to offer” by Country Living magazine, and most recently, Bobby Jucker competed in the popular ‘Food Network Challenge’ and has been seen on Food Network’s Challenge -Outrageous Food. Three Brothers Bakery is a certified Woman-Owned Business through Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, and a State of Texas Historically Underutilized Business.
