KidCheck has added powerline adapters to our product line as we believe the solution offers a cost effective & easy-to-use alternate solution for children's check-in which combines the flexibility simplicity of wireless with the performance of wired.

To improve the children’s check-in experience, KidCheck, Inc. today announced it has added powerline adapters to its product offerings. Powerline networking delivers an alternative network option beyond wired or wireless for the churches, daycares, fitness facilities and activity centers using KidCheck for their secure children’s check-in.
Powerline networking takes advantage of the network of electrical wires already existing in a building and converts it in a way that allows these wires to convey data. Powerline adapters basically turn a power outlet into a data port, with no effect on the normal function of the electrical wires or power outlets.
The resulting performance and security are similar to a wired network, without the need to lay Ethernet cable throughout a building. The technology allows the mobility and flexibility of a wireless network, without the possible performance and connection issues sometimes experienced with wireless.
“A reliable, speedy network connection is an absolute necessity for our customers to complete the check-in process,” said Alex Smith, KidCheck CEO. “KidCheck has added powerline adapters to our product line as we believe the solution offers a cost effective and easy-to-use alternate solution which combines the flexibility and simplicity of wireless with the performance of a wired network.”
“Our customers often need a wireless network solution as the physical placement of the children’s check-in stations is not viable to run the cables needed for a hard wired solution,” continued Smith. “However, wireless can be slow and unreliable compared to wired, especially during the busy check-in time when the amount of other wireless devices causing interference increases a hundredfold. The powerline adapter solution allows them to hardwire their child check-in stations to the network regardless of location.”
To utilize powerline networking, simply plug one powerline adapter into a power outlet (not a power strip or extension cord) and connect it to the router with an Ethernet cable; then connect the check-in station computer and another powerline adapter plugged into any other electrical outlet via Ethernet cable.
