Wayside Technology Group Chairman & CEO Simon F. Nynens Named Public Company CEO of the Year by New Jersey Technology Council

Wayside Technology Group Inc. (NASDAQ:WSTG) today announced that Simon F. Nynens, the company’s Chairman, President & CEO, has been honored by the New Jersey Technology Council (NJTC) as the 2012 Public Company CEO of the Year.

The New Jersey Technology Council CEO of the Year Awards honor leaders, who have demonstrated vision and leadership having guided their companies to new levels of growth, achievement or recognition. The CEO’s company must be innovative in its relationships with employees and customers, as well as exhibit excellence in its field. Lastly, the truly outstanding CEO offers their private sector skills and creativity to community and environmental efforts.

Since joining Wayside Technology Group in January 1998, Simon has held various positions including Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. He was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer Group in January 2006, and later that year as Chairman of the Board.

Under Simon’s leadership, Wayside has been profitable and as of September 30, 2012 has paid dividends to our shareholders for 39 consecutive quarters. For 2011, the Company achieved record revenues of $250 million and net income of $5.5 million. Wayside subsidiaries include Lifeboat Distribution, an international distributor of software products and services; and TechXtend, a leading value-added reseller of software, systems and solutions across the United States and Canada.

A graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, Simon currently serves as a Board member of the New Jersey Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization and also of the New Jersey Technology Council. In 2011, Simon was honored as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2011 for New Jersey in the Technology Services category.
