The term “teleunderwriting” represents many things, but always involves the exchange of information over the phone. Typically, information is collected for later use in the underwriting process. Questionnaires can be customized to match life insurance applications, and the telephone Interviews can be conducted using the on-demand SoundDecisions telephone interview solution. PURE, the predictive underwriting rules engine, is systematically called upon during the SoundDecisions telephone interview to render eligibility at the point-of-sale. It can evaluate the answers to application questions, prescription history results, MIB results and MVR results and triage the information to determine if additional questions need to be asked before final eligibility is rendered. As soon as these reflexive questions are answered, PURE renders its final decision and that information is communicated to the producer. Both SoundDecisions and PURE are product centric, and can be configured without software developers.
