This year we've added a Walk for Arthritis & a Car Show + more entertainment
Orange Beach, AL (PRWEB) November 09, 2012
The Snowbird Company is pulling out the stops for the 2nd Annual Snowbird Fest slated Jan. 12, 2013 at the Orange Beach Event Center at The Wharf. Organizers say this year’s event, held on the Alabama Gulf Coast in Orange Beach, will be bigger and better, with more entertainment, exhibitors and events for winter guests to enjoy.
The combination trade show and festival is tailored to the unique lifestyle of winter guests. Festival attendees will be treated to exclusive deals on lodging, dining, entertainment and more. Those seeking information on the area will be drawn to the exhibit space where all types of businesses and organizations that cater to the snowbird lifestyle will be on-hand offering promotions, special giveaways and information on their products and services. A Health and Wellness Expo by the Arthritis Foundation will also be incorporated into the exhibit space, offering health-related information and giveaways.
“This year, we have added several events that we are sure our visitors will love, including a car show and the Snowbird Shuffle Walk for Arthritis,” said Sean Beckham, president of The Snowbird Company. “We chose to hold the second annual event in Orange Beach because of its central location along the Gulf Coast. We are looking forward to an event packed with information and entertainment for our winter visitors.”
Beckham said pre-registration is currently open for exhibitors wishing to promote their businesses and products at the Snowbird Fest. Exhibit space for vendors registering prior to Dec. 1, 2012 is $125. After Dec. 1, the registration fee is $175. Non-profit groups may register for $50.
New for 2013, Beckham said the car show will incorporate classic cars and modern-day, custom automobiles. Held outdoors, guests will enjoy the mild January temperatures on the Gulf Coast while they peruse the hot rods, sedans and roadsters of yesteryear. In coordination with the Eastern Shore Cruisers, snowbirds will have the opportunity to vote for their favorites at the show. Beckham went on to say those interested in showcasing their own car can pre-register at a discounted rate of $15 before Jan. 5 or $20 on the day of the show. Registration includes a commemorative t-shirt, while supplies last, and a chance at 25 awards to be presented to best in show for each category to car owners!
The Snowbird Shuffle, benefiting the Arthritis Foundation, will get underway the morning of the show. Participants can choose between a one-mile or three-mile walk to support the cause. This is a certified course, and Beckham said those walking will enjoy the scenic waterfront The Wharf area has to offer during the event. Snowbirds wanting to participate in the walk or fun run can register online - early registration is $15 through December 22nd, then goes up to $20, and participants will receive a t-shirt along with their race packet.
A myriad of entertainers will showcase their talents during the annual event, including Ric McArthur, who will perform a collection of songs by Frank Sinatra and other music from the Rat Pack era. McArthur will also entertain the crowd with the laid-back sounds of Parrot Paradise. Other performances include an Elvis impersonator, magician and juggler. Beckham said there will be no shortage of lively entertainment during the day-long event.
The 2013 Snowbird Fest is organized and promoted by The Snowbird Company, an established brand that tailors to the lodging needs of thousands of winter travelers each year. The company includes both regional and state-specific highly visible websites catering to the snowbird lifestyle and receiving more than 60 million hits a year. The sites, such as AmericanSnowbird.com offer an array of condominiums, homes, villas and hotel rooms at discounted, offseason, multi-month rates. The Snowbird Fest turns the online community into an in-person event.
