Danbury, New Milford, Newtown & Shelton, CT (PRWEB) November 05, 2012
Dental Associates of Connecticut, the area’s leading providers of preventive, cosmetic, pediatric and specialty dentistry, is once again collaborating with Operation Gratitude, a non-profit organization whose mission is to ship care packages to our troops overseas, to promote good dental health at a time of the year when candy takes center stage.
“In an effort to promote dental health, Dental Associates encourages children to trade in their candy for cash,” said Krista Roberts, Marketing Manager of Dental Associates of CT. “Kids get so much candy at Halloween that we wanted a way to promote good dental hygiene while helping the troops at the same time, through Operation Gratitude.”
Over the past nine years, Dental Associates has bought back over four tons of candy – more than $16,000 worth. The candy, along with toothbrushes, paste and floss, will be donated to various local service agencies as well as Operation Gratitude for shipment to our troops overseas.
When a parent brings a child to one of Dental Associates’ four offices on November 6th, during the specified times, the Tooth Fairy will help weigh the child’s unopened, excess Halloween candy and buy it from the child for $2 per pound, up to a maximum of 10 pounds. That’s TWICE the amount that other dental candy buyback programs offer.
Those interested in helping the cause can bring candy to these locations at the specified times:
Newtown: 11 Church Hill Rd, from 9am to 11am
New Milford: 1 Aspetuck Ave, from Noon to 2pm
Shelton: 680 Bridgeport Avenue, from Noon to 2pm
Danbury: 19 Padanaram Rd, from 3:00pmto 5:00pm
