Rowley, MA: Michell Instruments' XTP601 thermo-paramagnetic oxygen analyzer is unlike any other analyzer in its class. Improved measurement cell construction and treatment of its thermistors allows for measurement of oxygen in pure hydrogen without the need for frequent recalibration.
Oxygen measurement is especially important within the power generation industry as the absence of oxygen in the cooling atmosphere of hydrogen cooled generators significantly reduces damage to the winding’s insulation by eventual corona discharges. This can be problematic as the generators typically operate at high voltage, often 20 kV.
Michell’s XTP601 Oxygen Analyzer utilizes a special sealing method on the gas inlet and outlet ports, reducing the number elastomeric seals in the gas path to just one O-ring, and eliminating the chance of a leak. By applying a proprietary coating to the measurement cell’s thermistors, the risk of hydrogen permeating into the thermistor bodies and affecting their performance is also greatly reduced.
