On November 7, 2012 from 6-10pm, Culintro (http://www.culintro.com), will host an event titled Design and Eating at Public Works (161 Eerie Street, San Francisco, CA).
Three nationally renowned restaurant architects and designers from the Bay Area will speak about their most innovative restaurant creations; from new concept design to the reconfiguring of spaces. The discussion will examine the challenges of helping restaurant operators meet the ever-changing needs of their customers, and give insight to the solutions achieved during the process. The speakers include Robert Polacek, David Darling, and Douglas Burnham. The conversation will be moderated by Erin Feher, Executive Editor at California Home + Design.
Robert Polacek is a Partner and Chief Creative Officer of the Puccini Group, and has helped his firm create countless sophisticated, chef-tailored, noteworthy restaurants across the globe for clients such as Jumeirah, Kimpton, Fairmont and Four Seasons among others. David Darling, is a Founding Partner of Aidlin Darling Design and has helped his firm receive over thirty-five regional, national and international design awards in the past two years, including; a James Beard Award for Restaurant Design, a 2010 National AIA “COTE” award for excellence in sustainable design, and two American Architecture Awards from The Chicago Athenaeum. Douglas Burnham is a Principal and Founder of envelope a+d; Douglas is well known for many of his hospitality projects, which include numerous celebrated Bay Area restaurants such as Delfina, Delfina’s Pizzeria’s, Locanda, Contigo Restaurant, Commis in Oakland, and Domaine Chandon in Napa Valley.
The event will begin with cocktail reception at 6:00pm with wine provided by Wente and espresso provided by Nespresso. At 7:00pm the speakers will take their seat on the panel to begin the conversation. Following the panel, there will be an after-party for networking from 8:00pm to 10:00pm with cocktails and light fare provided by Certified Angus Beef.
