Copyblogger Media today announced the availability of Scribe 4.0, a content optimization tool that allows creative teams with no SEO background to optimize their content for search engines and readers alike. Scribe 4.0 combines quality editing tools, social sharing, and search optimization for a truly integrated approach to content marketing.

“Creating content that works as marketing is the missing link of content marketing,” said Brian Clark, CEO of Copyblogger. “That doesn’t mean SEO is ‘dead,’ but it has evolved to be more holistic in the post-Panda and –Penguin environment. The game now is content optimization, which includes production of genuinely quality content, social sharing, and search optimization. Content needs to work for both social and search in order to be effective and serve a business purpose.”

Scribe allows creative teams with no SEO background to optimize their well-written content. Organizations, large or small, can easily create straightforward processes to make sure their content works for search engines as well as it does for readers. Scribe also integrates easily with existing marketing automation platforms like Eloqua and Marketo, making it easy for large enterprises in particular to fold into their marketing mix.

“Content is one of the most important tools a large organization can use to feel smaller and more intimate, and create better relationships with prospects and customers,” said Jake Wengroff, founder of social business consulting firm JXB1. “Scribe makes it easier to network with influential content producers, and that’s critical in this new holistic environment that combines social, search, and content functionalities.”

Additional new features of Scribe 4.0 include:

  •     Site Score, because search engines now look at the authority and quality of sites overall, as opposed to specific pages.
  •     Competition Score, to let users see at a glance how much effort will be needed to rank for the terms they want to compete for.
  •     The Keyword Graph, to show at a glance specifically what a site needs to do to improve rankings for a particular keyword.
  •     Social media listening and networking tools, to make it easier to network with bloggers and other important web publishers. Networking is a key to cultivating natural links (as opposed to the old-fashioned paid links, which are now ineffective), and it's a cornerstone of the new SEO.

Scribe 4.0 is available now as a Web-based tool for any platform, and content can be published to WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla with the click of a button. The Professional plan is $97 a month, and an agency version for high-volume users is available for $247 a month.
