Today TruthMarket, a division of Truth Seal Corp., announced that noted economist and public policy thought leader, Bruce M. Owen, Ph.D., has joined the TruthMarket™ Board of Advisors. TruthMarket is an online Marketplace for Truth Telling™. It provides ordinary citizens with a platform to “crowd-fund” and execute grass roots campaigns that publicly expose misrepresentations and false political, commercial and science claims, while highlighting true claims and offering cash rewards to successful campaign creators, sponsors and challengers.
Dr. Owen’s career trajectory as a consultant to the World Bank, a consummate researcher and a former Chief Economist of the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and the White House Office of Telecommunications Policy reflects his profound commitment to fact-based public policy. He states that "TruthMarket will help encourage greater rationality in public discourse.” Adding that “credible evidence usually is the best means to settle differences of opinion on issues that are clouded by inappropriate instincts and emotions,” Dr. Owen notes that “TruthMarket provides economic incentives to search for and disseminate such evidence."
“We’re very excited that Dr. Owen has agreed to join our Board of Advisors. His disciplined expertise and global perspective on public policy add an astute voice to our growing cadre of reputable experts committed to challenging manipulative speech, false claims and fractured facts,” said Rick Hayes-Roth, Ph.D., Founder and CEO of Truth Seal. “Dr. Owen’s books and articles have attracted an informed group of like-minded people supportive of truth in public dialogue. We look forward to having them participate in TruthMarket campaigns.”
“Truth Seal’s Board of Directors has been actively recruiting respected authorities for the Board of Advisors,” stated Mark L. Feldman, Ph.D., board member and investor. “Advisors known for their high integrity will advance and accelerate TruthMarket’s mission to increase truth and trust throughout the information space.” Feldman adds that “over the next few weeks there will be more announcements of public figures joining the TruthMarket Board of Advisors.“
