City Fresh Market will host $1 BUREK DAY at both store locations in Chicago on Thursday, November 29, 2012, and invites guests to sample this traditional and celebrated street food of the Balkans—made in-house at City Fresh Market by expert phyllo dough-thrower Bojan Aleksic. Everyone is invited to enjoy $1 Burek all day, plus sample this popular Eastern European specialty made of phyllo dough stuffed with meat, cheese OR spinach and cheese, at City Fresh Market’s original location at 3201 West Devon Avenue and also at City Fresh Market’s shop in Chicago French Market, 131 North Clinton Street.
Guests at City Fresh Market’s shop in Chicago French Market (131 North Clinton Street) will also enjoy a lunch hour Burek and phyllo dough demo with “The Burek Man” Bojan Aleksic, from 11:30a.m. – 1:30 p.m., and will have the chance to ‘try their hands’ at throwing and pulling phyllo dough. Complimentary samples of other Old World European specialties will also be served throughout the day, together with live Eastern European music.
