Kiyana Mills fought back when the medical industry tried to cover its mistakes

In her new book “Medical Negligence” (published by AuthorHouse), author Kiyana Mills narrates her chronicle of medical malpractice, taking readers along with her as doctors first injure her, and then try to cover it up.

“There have been many complaints,” Mills writes, “about medical staff not taking proper care of patients, especially the elderly. That’s what my book is about.”

An excerpt from “Medical Negligence”:

“During the operation the register used a very bright light. I had nothing to protect my eye. There was no plastic protective guard. She used her fingers to hold up my lids. The laser went round and round in circles. The register would tell me to look up and look down then I felt a very sharp pain. She then continued to move the laser around in circles above my eye, pushed my nose away with her finger and she said, ‘oh you are breathing on me, do you mind!’ I felt a second very sharp pain and smelt a smell I can only describe as a burning flesh or blood.”

Mills offers her story to readers because she fears that the medical malpractice she experienced may be far more prevalent than most believe. “There are people out there,” she says, “who have gone through the same situation and don’t know what to do or where to get help, so I hope for the readers to gain inspiration and help.”
