Half term sees many play schemes and activity days planned with wildlife charities and libraries often offering free events.

Research conducted by Deloitte has revealed growing confidence among households about their finances.
While household finances deteriorated in October, the scale of the squeeze is the least marked in two years.
Deloitte’s consumer tracker revealed that concerns about disposable income have eased by ten percentage points from 43% to 33%, while concerns about levels of debt were down by 16% to 10%.
With half term this week, Dosh Express has released information about how to save money while the children are off school and avoid dipping into family finances:
- Local papers often have event listings printed that highlight events taking place in the local area and how much they are. Half term sees many play schemes and activity days planned with wildlife charities and libraries often offering free events.
- Some galleries and museums have free entry, offering a cultural day out for the family without spending an extortionate amount on entry fees and providing an educational experience.
- Voucher codes can offer many money saving offers such as two for one on a variety of family days outs at theme parks and tourist attractions. These vouchers are often printed in newspapers and magazines or can be found on specialised voucher websites.
- Some loyalty cards such as the Tesco Clubcard and Nectar Card allow you to save points as you shop which you can then use to pay for days out, family meals or in return for vouchers against shopping
