Unemployment figures are continually decreases across the country with both the BLS and ManagerCrossing.com indicating positive results.
Pasadena, CA (PRWEB) November 01, 2012
The Bureau of Labor Statistics released new data today that showed a drop in unemployment in a majority of the major metropolitan areas. This data was mirrored by reports from ManagerCrossing.com, an employment opportunity site, which showed a rise in jobs from June to August and an average job count of 465,168 over the last four months.
The BLS report showed unemployment rates had dropped in 345 metropolitan areas. Non-farm payroll employment had increased in 267 areas while 11 didn’t change at all. The most impressive statistic was an increase of areas that posted a jobless rate below 7.0-percent. 171 areas in all posted these rates, which is up from 92 areas in September of last year.
In total, there were 217 areas that dropped below the national unemployment rate of 7.6-percent, which was definitely an improvement. The numbers also showed that the unemployment rate dropped the most in El Centro, CA and Elkhar-Goshen, IN, which both experienced a drop of at least three percentage points.
On par with these new statistics, ManagerCrossing.com found similar results, with the site reporting an average daily job count of 447,533 listings. Plus, the site shows a job count similar to that of the BLS report, with California jobs higher than any other state.
Though the BLS report gives a current look at the job market in the major metropolitan areas, ManagerCrossing.com is even more up-to-date since it doesn’t rely on surveys and instead utilizes immediate data collection via the Internet. “The job search site keeps track of open positions for managers across the country, acting as an immediate and accurate means of source information,” says A. Harrison Barnes, CEO of ManagerCrossing.com.
Unemployment is dropping all across the country in most metropolitan areas and these statistics are backed up by real time data gathered by job search sites. There are encouraging signs that the next BLS report will show even more progress.
