Bottle Rocket, a mobile application development firm, announced today it hired Scott Maddux as General Manager of AWE, a new business division. AWE is the first mobile app platform created to enable content owners, advertisers and publishers to rapidly deliver premium TV Everywhere, Social TV and Companion Content experiences to their customers.

Maddux is an Emmy-nominated executive with over 20 years of experience leading consumer product development at the intersection of technology, media and entertainment. Maddux has held founding and executive positions with Silicon Valley startups and Fortune 500 companies. He has developed and launched breakthrough products for companies including Apple, Hasbro, IDEO and Nielsen.

Most recently, Maddux served as Senior Vice President and Interim CEO of Media-Sync, a Nielsen joint venture, where he worked closely with major TV networks and advertisers to launch a revenue generating second-screen mobile publishing platform. The initial product launch with partners ABC and Lexus garnered an Emmy nomination for excellence in interactive media.

Maddux is an active member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, has been awarded multiple patents and design awards and is a frequent speaker at industry events.
