Washington, DC (PRWEB) November 02, 2012
Maggie’s List, a federal political action committee (PAC) dedicated to electing conservative women to federal office, is proud to have supported each of our endorsed challenger campaigns for the United States Senate and U.S. House of Representatives races with maximum federal contributions for the General Election.
By funding each challenger candidate to the maximum amount of $5,000 per race, Maggie’s List achieves another major milestone for conservative women. From the start of the organization in 2010 through today, our network has grown a significant membership and is led by outstanding grassroots leaders in 32 states.
Maggie’s list was the first federal PAC to see the promise in Deb Fischer, U.S. Senate Candidate for Nebraska that beat out two established candidates to win the primary election. Check presentation events were held across the country to show our support for our candidates and raise awareness for supporting conservative women for the United States Senate and U.S House of Representatives.
The 2012 endorsed challenger candidates that were fully funded to the maximum level permitted by Federal Election Commission are:
1. Deb Fischer / Nebraska Senate
2. Linda Lingle / Hawaii Senate
3. Linda McMahon / Connecticut Senate
4. Heather Wilson / New Mexico Senate
5. Janice Arnold Jones / New Mexico Congressional District 1
6. Maggie Brooks / New York Congressional District 25
7. Susan Brooks / Indiana Congressional District 5
8. Karen Harrington / Florida Congressional District 23
9. Mia Love / Utah Congressional District 4
10. Martha McSally / Arizona Congressional District 2
11. Kim Vann / California Congressional District 3
12. Ann Wagner / Missouri Congressional District 2
13. Jackie Walorski / Indiana Congressional District 2
“By fully funding all of our challenger candidates, Maggie’s List is clearly on the map as a potent political force committed to supporting fiscally conservative women. Our contributions in both the primary as well as the general build credibility for campaigns and change the perception of women leaders always leaning liberal,” says Sandra B. Mortham, Chairman of Maggie’s List and former Florida Secretary of State. Mortham continues, “Throughout the country, women joined together as grassroots leaders and members of Maggie’s List to have their voices heard. We refuse to accept liberals pandering to fear. Maggie’s List is working toward a future that honors our values of fiscal conservatism, less government, more personal responsibility and strong national security.”
Women comprise 54% of the women who voted in the 2008 presidential election yet they only hold 16.4% of the seats in the House and 17 seats in the Senate. Maggie’s List works to reverse this reality by empowering women to run for federal office.
