International training company provides support and expertise for food safety compliance

Attending the SQF International Conference is a great opportunity to learn about updates to food safety certification issues while collaborating with individuals and companies on ways to improve their food safety culture.

Alchemy Systems, the global leader in food and workplace safety training for production workers, today announced its involvement as a premier sponsor of the 2012 SQF International Conference and contribution in multiple speaking engagements. The SQF International Conference will be held November 6-8, 2012 at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza in Cincinnati, Ohio and will kick-off with an Election Night Bash and Solutions Showcase, sponsored by Alchemy.

“Alchemy is proud to support an organization that sets a precedence for the industry on the importance of food safety,” said Rick Hoffman, Chief Operating Officer at Alchemy. “Attending the SQF International Conference is a great opportunity to learn about updates to food safety certification issues while collaborating with individuals and companies on ways to improve their food safety culture.”

Throughout the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about Alchemy’s training platform called SISTEM and its impact on compliance within the food industry.

“Evolution Not Revolution: Behavioral Changes Impacting Your Food Safety Culture”
Working collectively, Alchemy and Breakthrough Consulting Services have studied the effects of training on employee behavior in relation to achieving an overall culture of food safety. Robert Meyer, CEO at Breakthrough Consulting Services and SISTEM user, Woody Barrett, Quality Assurance Manager at Del Monaco Specialty Foods, will share Del Monaco’s journey to achieve SQF certification while participating in a behavior validation program. The program confirms that employees understand the training material and validates that they demonstrate the desired behaviors and procedures that align with the food safety culture of Del Monaco.

“Instructional Design 101: The Basics of Course Design”
Conference attendees will have the opportunity to attend two breakout sessions in which they will learn the basics on how to efficiently and effectively develop training programs using the ADDIE model for instructional design. Alchemy’s Product Manager, Ryan Moore, will explain best practices to help plan and develop training programs that are targeted to both the employees and the needs of businesses.

“Best Training Practices to Drive a Food Safety Culture”
Alchemy’s Industry Relations Director, Laura Dunn Nelson, will facilitate an Idea Exchange session to give the attending food safety professionals the opportunity to exchange best practices and discuss actionable solutions to advance their own food safety culture - one of the toughest food safety challenges the industry faces.

As an SQF Licensed Training Center, Alchemy has also been nominated for the ‘Best SQF Training Center’ Award that will be given out during the conference. Earlier this year, SQF and Alchemy co-developed an online “Implementing SQF Systems” course and exam that covers the updated SQF Code, Edition 7. The new online course allows professionals interested in becoming an SQF practitioner the ease of taking the course at home or in the office, eliminating the additional time and costs of traveling to instructor-led testing centers. Throughout the conference, an overview of the course and registration information will be given to attendees at the SQF Resource table and more information will be available at Alchemy’s booth.
