Tampa, Fla. (PRWEB) November 05, 2012
The Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA) recently held its 2012 Fall Conference in New Orleans, where industry professionals shared best practices for the operation of urgent care centers, an essential part of the health care system. Jason North, executive director of After Hours Pediatrics Urgent Care, a subsidiary of TeamHealth, shared expertise with more than 300 attendees on the topic of Advanced Financial Management of urgent care centers.
According to the UCAOA, there are more than 8,700 urgent care centers in the U.S., growing at an average rate of 300 sites per year. North’s presentation focused on developing strategic financial practices in order for centers to take full advantage of this industry growth. Other conference courses included: Comprehensive Clinic Startup, Clinical Masterclasses and Marketing Your Center from Research to ROI.
“Management of urgent care centers will inevitably be affected by health care reform as well as by the increased competitive landscape that comes with the growth of the industry. A sound financial strategy is critical for urgent care centers to be successful; one that takes into account patient volume, employee staffing, expense management and marketing, among other things,” said North.
