Glasswerks LA, the company’s flagship location, has acquired the Argon Filling Systems (AFS) American-made insulated glass argon filling machine.

Glasswerks Inc. -- a leader in commercial and architectural glass fabrication -- will add Argon-filled insulated glass to its diverse line of glass products and services.

Glasswerks LA, the company’s flagship location, has acquired the Argon Filling Systems (AFS) American-made insulated glass argon filling machine. This new AFS machine will allow for safe, cost-effective on-site production of energy-efficient argon-filled insulated glass walls and windows.

“This state-of-the-art machine has built-in safety checks and can be calibrated on site,” says Ed Rosengrant, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Glasswerks. “That means the operating costs are lower than similar machines, and those are savings we can pass on to our customers.”

Argon — the third most common gas in the Earth’s atmosphere — is a colourless, odourless, non-flammable, non-reactive, low-conductivity gas. When sealed in window units, argon reduces heat loss by slowing down convection inside the air space. Simply put: argon-filled glass is an extremely cost-effective solution for insulated glass.
