Flint based American Metal Roofs with offices in Flint and Charlotte Michigan, just completed phase one to replace part of the existing worn asphalt roof at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with an energy saving aluminum roof.

The month long project started with ripping off two layers of old shingles and replacing deteriorated wood before installing permanent flashings and permanent charcoal gray aluminum roof. St Paul’s Episcopal Church located at 218 W. Ottowa St. has a long history in Lansing and made the decision to install an American Metal Roof to protect their historical building.

The Episcopal society first met in Lansing at the capitol in 1848. The society which became a parish in 1856, erected its first church at the corner of North Washington Avenue and Ionia Street in 1859. A second, much larger church opened at the present location on October 20, 1873, three weeks after the cornerstone of the present capitol had been laid.

“Being chosen from the dozens of contractors to roof this historic building is a testament to the quality of our products and the work our craftsmen perform says Dan Lane, Vice President. I am so proud of our crews. To watch these craftsmen meticulously craft a metal roof of this magnitude was like watching a Swiss watch being built. This roof will save St. Paul’s tens of thousands of dollars in maintenance and utilities over the years”

The second phase of the project will be completed in 2013. For information on American Metal Roofs go to http://www.AmericanMetalRoofs.com or call 866-763-9117.
