I expect that if this module is successful among users then they would look at monetizing it through ad revenue or a ticket partner site. Again another smart move by Facebook.

According to AllFacebook there is a new module being tested on Facebook that shows to users Concerts which are coming up in their area. Samuel Junghenn founder of Digital Marketing Agency Think Big Online says this is another sign that Facebook is experimenting on how to improve their service and grow new users.
“One of the biggest concerns that investors have around Facebook is for how long they can continue to grow their user base and also retain their current user base. Facebook is combating this by introducing new features which help to keep visitors engaged and also drive monetization.” Said Mr Junghenn.
The Facebook Upcoming Concerts feature was not announced publicly by Facebook but spotted by developer Tom Waddington who tipped off the latest change. This is the second time in as many weeks that Facebook has released an update without a public announcement.
“Facebook are obviously experimenting with new features but at the same time trying to keep these experiments quiet so not to tip off their competitors. Unfortunately with so many developers and users of the platform they are unable to stealthily test these new features.” Said Mr Junghenn
