We are delighted to have the opportunity to offer our Asia-bound clients the same superior deliverables and round-the-clock personalized customer service they have come to expect from us when doing business in the U.S.
Washington, DC (PRWEB) November 06, 2012
Planet Depos, a leader in worldwide court reporting, legal videography, videoconferencing and interpretation services, announced today its acquisition of American Realtime Court Reporters, the foremost court reporting firm serving Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Guam and Saipan. The acquisition supports Planet Depos’ global expansion efforts, complementing its 19 offices across the U.S.
American Realtime Court Reporters opened its doors in Japan in 2003 -- the first and only court reporting firm in the country -- to assist U.S. attorneys in conducting depositions in Asia. ARCR has built its reputation on providing U.S.-trained realtime court reporters and videographers for depositions and arbitrations throughout the Asia-Pacific region. All of its court reporters are American and certified by the National Court Reporters Association and utilize state-of-the-art realtime technology.
In addition to its court reporting services, ARCR brings to the Planet Depos team a talented staff of legal videographers, all Certified Legal Video Specialists (CLVS) and/or certified by the American Guild of Court Videographers. The full menu of services includes video depositions, witness interviews, Internet streaming, site inspections, document management, custom editing services, duplication, synchronized video/transcripts and trial presentation.
ARCR’s founder, Jodi Harmon, a court reporter herself since 1982, views the union as a win for the clients of both companies. “Our unmatched expertise throughout Asia affords us greater familiarity with local languages, procedures, protocol, geography and terminology, thereby facilitating superior realtime reporting and resulting in exceptional client experiences,” commented Harmon. “American Realtime Court Reporters is honored to become a part of Planet Depos, an esteemed firm within our industry.” Harmon joins the firm as its Director of Court Reporting - Asia.
Planet Depos CEO Lisa DiMonte agrees. “Jodi Harmon and the dedicated team at ARCR have earned industry respect as the leader and firm of choice for court reporting and litigation support in the Asia-Pacific region. We are delighted to have the opportunity to offer our Asia-bound clients the same superior deliverables and round-the-clock personalized customer service they have come to expect from us when doing business in the U.S.
“Our plan for growth includes increasing the number of court reporters and videographers living in Asia to better serve U.S. attorneys, including the ability to immediately fill last-minute needs,” DiMonte says.
Planet Depos’ General Counsel, Gregory Laubach, who is leading the company’s global expansion, commented, “The expansion into Asia with the acquisition of ARCR will make Planet Depos the clear choice for coverage and management of depositions throughout the U.S. and Asia.”
