BuzzFeed announced today that Nancy Newman will join the company as Vice President of Sales Marketing and Learning, and Jonathan Perelman will join as Vice President of Agency Strategy and Development. Newman was formerly Vice President of Sales Communications, and Training for the Americas at Yahoo!, and Perelman was most recently Google’s Global Lead for Industry Relations.
Newman pioneered and expanded Yahoo’s innovative learning and media sales training curriculum as well as built a Marketing Development team that delivered industry leading solutions for clients. At Google, Perelman was responsible for brand identity initiatives and relationship management within the advertising and media industries with a focus on agency collaboration.

Both Newman and Perelman will be based at BuzzFeed’s headquarters in New York City starting mid month. They will also develop programs and staffing out of BuzzFeed’s newly announced Los Angeles bureau.

Prior to joining BuzzFeed, Newman was a key player in building successful teams in the digital industry for some of the world’s most influential brands including Yahoo!, SoftBank, Ziff Davis and Guggenheim.com. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston University with a Bachelor’s of Science.
Perelman spent the past six years at Google, where the company’s Operating Committee awarded him the prestigious OC Award. He is a Senior Fellow at the Center for the Digital Future, at the USC Annenberg School. In addition, he serves on the board of Advertising Week, Ad:Tech, and the International Association of Internet Professionals. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in political science.
