The resulting quality, speed and cost advantages will enable the two companies to offer services with high added value to global clients.” said Mr. Masahiro Morimoto, President & CEO, UBIC, Inc.

UBIC, Inc. has formed a strategic partnership with translation company ALAYA, Inc. in Japan, as of October 2012. With this move, UBIC has made a full-scale move into the business of translating documents for international litigation, due diligence, mergers and acquisitions as well as initial public offerings.

UBIC is a pioneer in cross-border eDiscovery and digital forensics with extensive experience and expertise in Asian-languages. Its revenue (sales) growth has reached 442.9% over the past three years. At the heart of these technologies is UBIC’s “Lit i View” eDiscovery platform. Since its in-house development and implementation in 2010, it has earned overwhelming praise from corporate customers doing business globally. UBIC became the first Asian company positioned as a Visionary in Gartner ’s Magic Quadrant for E-Discovery Software, 2012.

While the U.S. historically has been the most favored and popular destination for cross-border litigations involving Asian corporations, there has been a recent increase in cases in Europe. As most of Asia is non-English speaking, with each country having its own speaking and writing languages, a massive amount of data needs to be translated into English as part of the typical discovery process, which adds greatly to the time and cost of such process.

“This strategic alliance will blend UBIC’s outstanding eDiscovery technology and accomplishments in identifying and narrowing down the volume of documents to be translated with ALAYA’s extensive translation record and know-how. The resulting quality, speed and cost advantages will enable the two companies to offer services with high added value to global clients” said Mr. Masahiro Morimoto, President & CEO, UBIC, Inc. “By entrusting all their eDiscovery and translation needs to UBIC and ALAYA’s integrated service, clients will also be ensured of a higher level of data security as compared to finding a new translation service each time a new lawsuit occurs. UBIC believes that this complementary partnership will enhance customer satisfaction.”
