to enter the world of nature to awaken their senses, their sensibilities, and their souls to answer profound questions regarding the meaning of life
BRADFORD, N.H. (PRWEB) November 07, 2012
In her new book “Common Ground, Uncommon Gifts: Growing Peace and Harmony through Stories, Reflections, and Practices in the Natural World” (published by Balboa Press) Barbara Meyers invites readers on journeys of self-discovery and the contemplation of one’s role in the well-being of planet Earth and all its beings.
In weaving stories, reflections and practices through the paradigm of the Native American Medicine Wheel, Meyers encourages readers “… to enter the world of nature to awaken their senses, their sensibilities, and their souls to answer profound questions regarding the meaning of life.” She continues, “‘Common Ground, Uncommon Gifts‘ is not only a spiraling, soulful journey of self-discovery that celebrates our oneness with all life, but also a call to action to save ourselves and our planet.”
Meyers’ ultimate goal with “Common Ground, Uncommon Gifts” is to inspire readers to integrate the wisdom teachings of nature into one’s essence and to make these lessons manifest in the world.
Meyers continues, “We are at a crossroads on this planet – global warming, toxic waste, loss of resources, spiraling population growth. To move beyond an industrial growth society to a life-sustaining one, technology alone will not suffice. We need a fundamental shift in our relationship to all beings on this planet – human and other. ‘Common Ground, Uncommon Gifts’ offers a grassroots approach to living in communion as our values shift from consumerism and destruction to living in balance and sustainability.”
