Queens, NY (PRWEB) November 08, 2012
The Executive Office Center at Fresh Meadows, the premier provider of virtual offices in Queens NY, celebrated the anniversary of the founding of the Queens County on November 1, with an updated display of online Queens historical photographs.
The hallways of the Queens Executive Center are lined with over seventy rare historical photos of Queens, obtained from the Queens Historical Society, that dramatically illustrate how life has changed over the last 150 years in the nation's most ethnically diverse county.
"Some of these photographs are so remarkable, we wanted to give them a wider audience," said Executive Office Director, Jack Blumner. "That's why we decided to put a sampling of them online." The images can be viewed at: http://executiveofficefm.com/hisphotos.htm.
The black and white photos, which comprise the largest selection of historical photos of Queens on display anywhere, take us all the way back to the beginning the nineteenth century when the runways of LaGuardia Airport were the site of the North Beach Amusement Park. There are 45 attorneys affiliated with the Executive Office Center, but none old enough to remember the old Queens Court House, pictured here in 1880.
Queens County has a rich and colorful past In the past century it was the site of two World's Fairs. It was also the temporary home of the United Nations in the late 1940's, while the permanent headquarters was under construction. The online photos of these and many other Queens landmarks offer a rare glimpse into the history of the borough.
