IPS Learning and the Stanford Advanced Project Management Program today announced that Darcy Winslow, Managing Partner of the Academy for Systemic Change and former Nike executive, will speak at “The Strategic Execution Conference: Linking Strategy to Execution through Innovative Techniques”. Her presentation will focus on the intersection of sustainability and innovation. Winslow will speak the afternoon of April 24 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport, 1333 Bayshore Dr., Burlingame, CA.
Winslow is a pioneer and active practitioner of sustainability principles, exploring and experimenting with their application to all aspects of business. She is one of the foremost experts on the process of steering a large and successful company toward more environmental, financial, and reputational sustainability. Winslow is passionate about innovative practices that turn a company doing business-as-usual into a company that leads the way in creating innovative – and profitable – solutions that meet the demands of the modern world.
In 1999, Winslow spearheaded a major sustainability effort at Nike to ensure that the creation of the world’s most recognizable brand of athletic-wear was also the most socially responsible and environmentally friendly. She and her team brought a sustainability revolution to Nike with a series of real-world, product design and engineering changes that re-branded Nike for the 21st century.
In 2008, Winslow founded DSW Collective, LLC, which focuses on the alignment of organizational values and principles with the development and implementation of practical, systemic and sustainable design strategies. She serves on the Board of Directors for The Cloud Institute for Sustainability Education; the Portland Sustainability Institute; the Institute for Nature and Leadership; and the Board of Advisors for Biomimicry Oregon and the Northwest Earth Institute. She also is an Executive in Residence at the MIT Sloan School of Management and Adjunct Faculty at the Center for Creative Leadership.
The Strategic Execution Conference will bring together executives, leaders and senior managers from major high-tech and innovative organizations worldwide to gain insight on current and future challenges surrounding strategic execution from the world’s preeminent thought leaders.
