MedicalMissions.com, the premier website for students, medical professionals and organizations interested in health care missions, continues to expand its online opportunities for research, learning and networking.
The ministry’s new Stories feature allows people to share their real-life medical missions experiences with the online community. After posting their story, users can also upload photos, tag stories with keywords and location for easy searching, and leave comments for others.
In just the first few weeks of the new website feature, members shared their experiences in Indonesia, Africa, Burma, and beyond.
Anyone with a medicalmissions.com profile can share his story, and it’s easy and free to create a profile. In addition to adding stories, members of the site can also connect with others in their interest areas and medical specialties.
Online education is another new feature of the site; dozens of podcasts on a variety of subjects are available at no cost. Search by passion areas like poverty, clean water, or HIV/AIDS; by medical specialty; or by academic areas including patient care, global health issues, community health and development and missions preparation.
"This resource will change the manner in which we are able to equip healthcare professionals to serve around the world and to share the best practices that help effect long term sustainable change,” says Will Rogers, executive director.
