We’re pleased to be involved in this important education program. Community Board Members are all volunteers and yet they have a critical role in the development and leadership of their associations.
(PRWEB) November 07, 2012
November 7th and 8th will kick off the first of 10 programs in the 14th annual season of the Community Association Officers Forum. The education program is provided for association board members in the Southwest Florida area and sponsored by AtHomeNet along with Guardian Property Management and several local and state-wide businesses that provide critical services and consulting to condominium and homeowners associations. The classes cover many areas important to board members including association accounting fundamentals, risk management, technology issues, and disaster preparedness.
Florida Statute Section 718.112 provides that newly elected condominium association board members must complete one of two options to qualify for board service. A newly elected or appointed director can meet the requirements by obtaining a certificate of satisfactory completion of the education curriculum administered by a division-approved education provider such as CAOF.
The Forum will cover five session topics between now and March of 2013, including “Preserving the Ambiance of Association Properties”. Cyndi Sanders, Marketing Director for AtHomeNet will speak about the importance of web site services and technology in maintaining a positive online presence to enhance a community’s reputation. Other programs include “The Essentials of Being a Knowledgeable Board Member” and a panel discussion on “The Top 25 Most Intriguing Questions Posed by Association Board Members”. Each four hour program is offered in Ft. Myers, and then the following day in Naples, FL. A full schedule of courses can be found at http://www.GuardianPropertyManagement.net and online courses can be found at http://www.LifelongLearning.eCollege.com.
Cyndi Sanders of AtHomeNet states “We’re pleased to be involved in this important education program. Community Board Members are all volunteers and yet they have a critical role in the development and leadership of their associations. The dedication to education that we see from the participants is really remarkable. “
