No one understands the importance of Philadelphia’s history better than local small businesses like interior plantscape design company Hoffman Design Group. The rich heritage of the city plays a huge role in the local economy, from attracting businesses and residents to enticing tourists to pay a visit.

The Friends of Independence National Historical Park (FINHP) was originally established in 1972 to help fund acquisitions and perform an educational role. Through its four decades of service, the Friends have become much more to the Park. Their efforts have been recognized both nationally and internationally, providing an academic dialogue through various events. Lectures, seminars, children’s programs, guided tours, accessions, and the celebration of historical events keep the group bustling.

The Friends celebrated their 40th anniversary with a blockbuster gala on October 11, 2012 at the Independence Park Institute building in Philadelphia. Celebrity guests Mayor Michael Nutter and Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek were on hand to witness the salutations, war hero’s dinner, and tributes.

Among other terrific local businesses, Hoffman Design Group was proud to partner with FINHP by donating stunning indoor plantscapes that added an element of nature to the event. Decorative urns filled with tropical plants greeted guests at the valet drop off and more tropical and colorful displays welcomed the guests through the entrance to the event.

Cocktail tables were dressed up with Hoffman Design Group’s candle lanterns, which showcased the FINHP event logo. The bar wasn’t left out; a large botanical display consisting of seasonal branches in a decorative container was highlighted at each end of the bar.

Another event partner, Meadowbrook Farm of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, provided floral centerpieces for the dinner tables. Hoffman Design Group set off the arrangements with votive candles. Additional plants in beautiful decorative containers were placed throughout the event space. Everything came together to create an unforgettable evening.
