Keep the New Year’s celebration alive by bringing your group tour to Shreveport-Bossier’s 2013 Mardi Gras Bash, Feb. 2 in downtown Shreveport. The party starts at 1 p.m. and ends around 6 p.m.

Attendees can let loose at this rockin’ tent party, which offers an exclusive front row experience to the popular Krewe of Centaur Parade. Inside of the climate-controlled tent, groups can savor authentic Louisiana cuisine, groove to lively Cajun tunes and mingle with charming Mardi Gras royalty from various local krewes.

Outside of the tent, get ready to catch beads thrown by local krewes once the parade takes off along the Red River riverfront. Parade routes feature alcohol-free zones and plenty of excitement all-day long.

The annual Mardi Gras Bash has your group’s backstage pass to the most honored Mardi Gras traditions. Discover the yummy ingredients that make King Cake so tasty while creating your own, watch imaginative parade themes come to life at a float-loading party or learn more about celebrations in northwest Louisiana with a tour of the Mardi Gras Museum.

Other weekend tour opportunities include five riverboat casinos, tours of the R.W. Norton Art Gallery, Artspace at the West Edge, Logan Mansion and shopping at the Louisiana Boardwalk, Line Avenue Shopping District or Southeast Shreveport’s shopping corridor.

“The Mardi Gras Bash Party hosted by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau is the perfect set up for groups,” said Pattie Harrell, President of Gotta Go Tours by Patti. “My clients loved it all – the food, then more food, the band and dancing, the warmth of the tent on a chilly night and catching ‘all dem beads’ and doubloons. We'll be back.”

Tickets to Mardi Gras Bash are just $25 per person and include entry to the tent party, food and T-shirts. To qualify, groups must include 10 or more attendees. For every 20 tickets sold, groups receive two free. Bus drivers receive free entry to the event.
